KSEA는 아래와 같은 Vision과 Mission을 가진 단체로, STEM 전공 분야에서의 career development와 networking에 큰 도움을 제공하는 단체입니다.
VISION

- Foster international cooperation especially between the U.S. and Korea
- Help Korean-American Scientists and Engineers develop their full career potential

저는 2020년 SEED와 UKC라는 행사를 참석하였는데, 다양한 전공 분야 사람들과 연구자라는 공통 분모로 고민을 나누고, 좋은 이야기를 들었던 것이 매우 좋았습니다.
박사과정을 하면서 제 분야만 익숙해지고 다른 분야에 대해 상대적으로 무뎌져갔던 경험이 있었는데, 이런 행사를 통해 시야를 넓히고 학위 과정 중 그리고 학위 과정 이후의 커리어에 대해서 조언을 많이 얻을 수 있었습니다. 이렇게 좋은 행사를 KSEA 가입시 무료로 들을 수 있다는 것이 너무 감사했고, 심지어 가입비용도 이번 KSEA 게인즈빌 챕터와의 제휴를 통해서 reimburse 해주게 되어 KSA 멤버들에게 강력히 가입을 추천하는 바입니다.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
- Leadership development through committee activities and conference organization: KSEA has 13 Technical Groups and 14 Standing Committees for your participation. You are welcome to organize technical sessions at the annual U.S.-Korea Conference on Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (UKC) or you may organize a conference of your own.
- Networking with other Korean-American scientists and engineers: Join the Technical Groups and Committees, or come to the annual conference, UKC. The KSEA is unique in that its members come from all fields of science and engineering. The UKC offers an excellent opportunity to learn about other fields than your own.
- Office use at KSEA Office while in DC: If you need a temporary office while in DC, please come to the KSEA Headquarters office.
- Participation in technical evaluation and consulting: We will contact you when we need experts for these services.
- Opportunities for community service: You may participate in community service activities of your chapter. Or you may help with National Math Competition.
- Information on professional opportunities in both U.S. and Korea: Look for job openings on the KSEA web.
- Awards program: KSEA honors members of distinguished records by presenting them with KSEA Awards.
- Membership dues supporting your chapter: Most of your dues go back to your own chapter.
